The 1X1 is a sturdy singlespeed mountain bike with lots of tire clearance. The frameset sells for €500,-.

This one's all built up and costs € 1100,-

The Cross-check is one our favorite. You can do almost anything you want with this frame: a fast touring bike, a sturdy commuter, a singlespeed... You name it. The frame costs € 450,-

Surly now offers this frame with S&S couplers which allow to take the frame apart and thus avoid the oversize luggage fee on most airlines. Travellers-Check frameset: € 1250,-
